Welcome Home Part 10 Trowa turned over in bed and stared into the darkness. It was the first night in a long time that he had slept alone. He was already missing Heero, not just the sex, but the reassurance that he was there for him. It felt strange knowing the Japanese boy was still angered with him. This was the first time that they had ever really fought to the extend that they weren't talking to each other. After he had left the table that evening, he sought refugee in the woods. When he had returned to rest that night, he took the room that Quatre originally picked out; since the Arab was still sharing with Duo. Now that Trowa was alone to quietly think about his arguments with Heero earlier that day, he realized how petty and childish they truly were. It was also strongly noted how Heero had acted in the fights. It was as if it was someone else. . .not his boyfriend. No longer able to stand being away from him, Trowa pushed out of bed and headed for the door. He had to set things right with Heero. He wouldn't be able to rest, nor feel comfortable until that happens. Just as he opened the door, he was a little surprised to find Quatre standing on the opposite side. The blonde had his hand raised as if he was going to knock. "What are you doing up?" "I need to show you something. . .something that I think will prove to Heero, and everyone else that this place is haunted." "What is it?" "You're going to have to see it to believe it." Quatre stated and started walking down the hall. Curious, Trowa followed suit. "Where did you find it?" "Well, I don't know if Wu Fei and Duo made a mistake or not, but there are more rooms in this place than they said." Quatre started out as they walked side by side. "So what's there?" At this moment, Quatre stopped and grabbed the door knob. "Just see." He said softly and opened the door. After a second's hesitation, Trowa stepped into the room. His eyes widen as he saw a familiar pair of green eyes glaring menacingly at him. The entire room was made of mirrors. Everything from the walls, to the tables, and chairs held a pair of green eyes. Trowa turned around just in time to witness Quatre closing the door. Even the back of the door was pure glass. Trowa stepped back a moment, wondering what to do. He looked around the room, trying to find an exit. Every time he looked somewhere, it seemed that his reflection was getting closer to him. Finally, his eyes landed on the door knob. It was the only thing in the large room that didn't' sport his reflection. With no other options, he seized the door knob and turned. . .it was locked. Before he could pull away, the reflection grabbed his wrist, and started pulling him toward the glass. Trowa's eyes widen as he tugged against the towing. A evil smirk curved the reflection's lips. Trowa watched in fear as his hand started to disappear into the cool surface of the glass. He struggled harder, but it seemed futile. Without thinking, he pressed his other hand against the mirror and pulled harder. To his surprise, he was actually starting to return from the mirror. He continued to jerk his wrist free, when suddenly, his free hand was grabbed and was also pulled into the unknown. He then, used his foot against the glass, figuring that with both hands occupied, there was no way to grab his leg. As it started to work, the reflection released the wrist that he once held to seize Trowa's foot; just as he expected. Once his hand was freed, he removed both his hand and foot from the surface and continued to struggle with his other hand that had, once again, disappear into the depths of the mirror. Somehow, struggling against his image was wearing him weak fast. He wasn't sure how long he could continue to fight the strong opponent. No type of warning was given, and he was suddenly released from the hold. Taken by surprise, he fell on his backside. His eyes never left the mirror, but was surprised to find that his reflection was gone. On instincts, he looked down to find that he was sitting on a mirror. The notice was too late as the reflection appear and grabbed him around the waist. "No!" Trowa called as half his body was dragged into the depths. He placed either of his hands on the surface to stop himself. It was then that he figured that this had to be a dream. There was no way something like this could happen in real life. With that in mind, he tried to wake himself. A burst of unsuspected energy came from the enemy that pulled the Latin completely inside the mirror. "Heero!" Heero sat up straight in bed. Something wasn't right. He could feel it. Not wasting time, he threw off his sheets and left the room. Early morning sunlight began peeking through the uncurtained windows in the hall, as he headed to the room that Trowa had spent the night in. In truth, Heero wasn't even aware that he had dozed off until he woke up. He had spent most of the night thinking about Trowa. He couldn't take it any longer. He had to ease his mind and make up with his boyfriend. As he came to the room, he didn't even bother to knock. He pushed the door open and was surprised to find that it was empty. The bed was made, meaning that he must already be awake. Thinking of this, Heero figured that he probably didn't sleep at all last night. Closing the door behind him, he headed downstairs. First, he checked the kitchen. . .then the dining room. . .he stepped outside and scanned the immediate vicinity, but Trowa wasn't anywhere. He knew that his lover had to be somewhere on the grounds, since both the cars were still in the drive. The morning sky was damp with heavy rain droplets, indicating that he wasn't likely to be walking in the woods. He headed back inside, to check the sitting room. Then he returned to the bedroom that they had shared, in hopes that Trowa had come there with intentions of making up. That wasn't the case. It was then that a flicker of worry entered Heero's mind. What were the chances of Trowa exploring the house? As a last resort, he headed for Wu Fei's room. It was possible that he and Trowa talked last night about their fighting. Maybe he had accidentally fallen asleep in Wu Fei's room. That would explain why his bed was made. . .maybe he didn't sleep in it last night. Coming to the Chinese boy's room, Heero listened closely to the insides. Part of him expected to hear the two boys talking. . .but he didn't. Despite his stealth capabilities, Heero knew that he wouldn't be able to enter the room without waking both of them. The old door would squeak too much. If they were sleeping, he didn't want to wake them just yet. Instead, he decided to wait until they woke up. Now that he thought about it, the possibility of Trowa being in Wu Fei's room, was the most reasonable answer. After all, people didn't just disappear without a reason. "Has anyone seen Heero or Trowa?" Quatre asked as he stepped into the kitchen where Wu Fei and Duo were starting lunch. "No, why?" Wu Fei asked without looking up from his task. "I checked both the rooms, and they're not there." "Maybe they're in the woods making up." Duo snickered and glanced over at the blonde. At that moment, Heero stepped into the room. "Has anyone seen Trowa?" He asked and looked from one friend to another. "Something's not right here." Quatre whispered more to himself than anyone else. There was an eerie tone to his voice that caught everyone's attention. "Don't start with that ghost BS." Heero warned. "I've heard enough of that." "I'm sure he'll be back before dinner." Duo informed and tasted the noodles he was boiling. "I've been looking for him since this morning Duo." "Is it possible he went for a walk?" Quatre asked and looked over at the window. The morning rain had turned into a afternoon thunderstorm. Heero wondered the possibility before heading for the back door. "Heero, you're going to go out in that?" "Well, he's not in the house Duo. I've been checking all day. He has to be in the woods somewhere." "I'll help you look." Wu Fei offered and wiped his hands on a towel. Duo watched them leave and shook his head. "They're both going to catch colds." Quatre stated. "They're just too pig headed to listen to anyone." Duo griped. "Damnit. Why does Trowa have to be a pain all the time?" He turned off the stove and also wiped his hands. "Come on. We better recheck the house for him." "But Heero said he already checked." "That may be true, but don't forget that there's only one Heero and fifty two rooms. It's possible that they could have missed each other." With that, Duo headed toward the stairs. "We can start with the attic and make our way down." "There's an attic in this place?" "Yeah. It's really old and smelly." Quatre followed his braided friend, wanting to stay as close as possible. "Maybe we should split up. We can cover more ground that way." The sapphires widen in fear. "No. I think we should stay together. I don't know this house very well. I don't want to get lost." "How lost can you get in a house Q?" Duo asked. For the first time, he was annoyed with Quatre wanting to cling to him like this. He wasn't use to the Arab acting this way. He wondered what the possibility was that he could actually spend at least one night alone, without the blonde companion. Twenty minutes later, the two boys came across a room in the attic that was filled with toys. Duo's eyes widen at the aspect. He looked from one wall to the other. It seemed to be divided with girl toys on the right, and boys to the left. Quatre wearily walked in behind his friend. As he looked at the walls of shelves with rows of dolls, a creepy feeling overwhelmed him. For some reason, he felt that the dolls were watching him. "Check this out." Duo chirped and spun around to hold up a mutated turtle toy. "It's Donatello from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. . .and it's still in it's original package." The American gloated. "Do you have any ideal how much these things are worth? And the whole set is here." Duo turned back around and looked at the toys hanging from racks. "There's probably a billion dollars worth of toys just on this side of the room." As he replaced the Donatello action figure. His eyes ran along the antique rocking horse, power wheels, and tricycles until they landed on a table that was covered. "Duo, maybe we should get back to looking for Trowa." Quatre suggested as he watched Duo pull the cloth from the table. The violet eyes widen at the contents underneath. "Will you look at this?" He kneeled to become eye level with the table. The table contained a model of a small town. It ran from one end of the table to the next. There were resident homes, business, paved streets, and country roads. Toy cars could be seen on the roads and parked in the drive ways of homes. Not able to resist, Duo took his index finger and pushed a car down the city street. "This is too cool." He laughed and picked up a toy house. It was made of wood; as if someone had widdled it themselves. "Duo. . ." The American looked up at the blonde. "Right. Cyclops. I almost forgot." Duo stood up and headed toward the door. Before closing it behind him, he glanced back at the miniature city. Quatre walked closely to his friend, not really wanting to be alone in the house. "Man, I don't want to spend the whole lunch looking for him." Duo whined as they searched the next room. "Trowa, get your ass out here. I'm not in the mood for hide and seek." As he spoke he threw open a door to find that the Latin was inside. He was laying on the ground and appeared to be out cold. "Trowa." Quatre ran to his friend's side and kneeled next to him. Duo scratched his head as he wondered what happened to him. It was then that he noticed the broken shards on the ground. He looked up to the ceiling to see an exposed light. There were two other lights in the room, but they each had covers. The one over Trowa didn't have a cover. Duo walked over to the two boys and kneeled. Between the two, they managed to carry him to a bed room where they laid him on the bed. While Quatre tended to the wound, Duo headed outside to get Heero and Wu Fei. The blonde attempted to ignore the fact that he was alone by focusing on Trowa. Duo was only gone for a few seconds when Quatre heard a familiar creaking. His eyes instinctively flew to the closet. . .but the door was still closed. He then looked behind him toward the door to the room. The girl from the other night was floating into the room. Quatre stood up straight, his eyes glued on the girl. She looked up into his face with her big violet eyes. Suddenly, Quatre started to feel dizzy. The next second, his eyes rolled back and he collapsed on the ground. The ghost kneeled next to the fallen blonde. She gently took his wrist in either of her hands. With force unseen, she began pulling the Arab.
