SHADOWS AND LIGHT: AN UNBREAKABLE BOND:
Duo smiled up at him. "Koban wa." Heero embraced him and kissed him passionately for a
moment before breaking away and resting his chin on Duo's head when
it was placed on his shoulder. "Ah. I have to leave for work
in three hours. Will that be enough time?" Duo nodded. "I think so. For most of the stuff."
He moved from the perfect spot on Heero's shoulder that made him want
to melt when Duo rested his head there. "Shall we begin?" "Yosha." * * * "Ok. Hold your hands out like this." Duo extended
his arms and held his palms up. Heero mimicked him perfectly. "Good. I'm gonna try to give you some of my Ki. I don't know if you could call forth your own." He held his hands over Heero's, hovering a few centimeters above them as his eyes glowed. "Ok. Here goes." Closing his eyes, he called on his energy, his very life force, and channeled it into his hands, willing it to transfer into the body before him. "Ok. This could get weird. Just bear with it." He felt it flow from him into Heero's hands, and heard him gasp. He opened an eye and looked to Heero who was staring at himself and Duo. The two were glowing, Duo, a deep amethyst and Heero
a sapphire. 'I guess it's working. The color difference shows that
it is accepting the body. I wonder.... Is that the color of his aura?'
"Does it feel like a current?" Speechless, Heero nodded. Duo closed his eyes again and let more of his energy
flow to his lover, waiting for a few long minutes until he was certain
that there was enough for Heero to detect and grasp when he was told.
Dropping his hands, he let his energy center itself once again to
become dormant. He took a deep breath and opened his eyes to see that
Heero had wide eyes and was looking down at himself. Neither of the
two were glowing. "Ok." He kept himself from swaying from
the energy loss that hit him like a ton of bricks. "Now. You
remember what that felt like?" "Hai." "Good. Try to feel that way again. Just call on
that memory." Heero nodded and closed his eyes. After a moment, he
began to glow a deep prussian blue. He opened his eyes and looked
at Duo. "Segoi." Duo grinned. "Ah. I wonder if that is the color
of your aura. I'll ask Q. Later. Now, channel it into a hand. Just
kind of push it there." Heero nodded and closed his eyes, holding a palm in
the air. After a moment, his hand began to glow brightly, the light
more white than blue. The energy, high in gravity, naturally formed
a sphere. It was a few inches in diameter, taking Duo by surprise.
Heero opened his eyes and gaped at the ball of light in his hand. Duo smirked. "Typical. You learn fast. I wasn't
expecting this. I figured it would be half an inch around at best.
This must have something to do with your strength. Hn. Strange. But
in a good way." He smiled warmly but it soon turned into a grin.
"Wanna test it out?" Heero smirked and the ball faded to nothing, the energy
returning to his center. "Ah." Duo grinned wider with excitement and took him by the
hand, leading him into the living room. "I can't set foot outside
just yet, but I can watch from the doorway." He said as he opened
the door. "Target that patch of dirt. Don't target anything that
can catch fire, cause it will and then I'm royally screwed if it spreads
to the house." Heero smiled and walked out to the patch of dirt. He
looked back to Duo. Duo smiled to hide the pain he was feeling from the
minimal amount of sunlight. While it would not kill him, it hurt like
hell. "Just call it and throw it like a baseball." Heero nodded and the ball appeared in his hand yet again.
He waited a moment before lifting his hand in the air and throwing
the ball to the ground. He yelped and jumped backwards when the earth
exploded outward, showering him with dirt and small rocks. Duo chuckled to himself. 'Ah, youth.' "Yeah, that
makes stuff explode if you throw it. If you gently place it on something
it will just burn it. You can control whether it is hot or not, but
I can teach you that later. First, get used to it. Then we'll move
to the next step." Heero nodded and smiled, shaking the debris from his
hair and walking back to Duo, embracing him and kissing him lightly.
"Arigato, Duo-kun." Duo grinned and kissed him back. "Don't thank me,
Hee-kun. I wasn't even sure if you'd be able to do that. I guess you're
a fast learner about everything." Heero smiled and closed the door, having caught a slightly
pained look in Duo's eyes. "I guess so. But, like any student,
I would be nowhere without my teacher. You've taught me so much. Thank
you." Duo grinned as his heart soared. "Doitashimashite.
Come on. You eat dinner?" Heero shook his head. "Not yet. I would love some.
Thanks." He allowed Duo to pull him into the kitchen. * * * Heero stepped inside his place of work, casting his
eyes about to locate his boss. He noted that Relena was nowhere to
be seen. Spotting his manager working in the used CD section, he approached.
"Mr. Dorlian. Sorry I wasn't here a few days ago. Something came
up." The man waved his hand. "I don't care. It's none
of my concern. Clean out your locker." "I'm sorry?" "I need someone that I can rely on. And that thing
you said to Relena... I was going to let it slide, but you missed
two days of work without so much as a phone call." "I was nowhere near a phone. There was no way for
me TO call." "Again. Not my concern. Go clean out your locker
and I'll give you your check." Heero nodded solemnly and went into the back room. 'Duo.
Come in. He fired me. Think you can get him to change his mind?' "Hai, Koi. Chotto matte, kudasai." Heero sent him a 'thank you' and went about cleaning
out the few things in his locker. It was nothing more than information,
things that proved he was himself and that he worked there. After
a moment he heard the bell ring to signal that the door had been opened.
He peeked around the doorway and saw 'Sara' walk into the store. He
smirked. 'How the hell does he do that so well?' He walked onto the
sales floor and stood a few yards away from his manager, watching
as Duo approached him. "Excuse me?" Duo said in a feminine voice.
"Are you the manager here?" The man looked up from his work and smiled to his 'customer'.
"Yes, I am. May I help you?" Duo smiled. "I hope so." He stepped forward
and his eyes began to glow brightly. Mr. Dorlian gasped and took a few steps back and away
from Duo, his eyes wide, the CD's he had been holding falling to the
floor. "WHAT THE_" Duo held a finger to smirking lips. "Sshhhhh." Heero watched, amazed, as the man nodded and his mouth
closed with an audible snap. He took another step back as Duo approached
again. "Stop. Stand still." Duo's voice was gentle,
but commanding. The man stood still and Duo stood directly before him. "Good." Duo looked back to Heero with a cocky
smirk before looking deeply into the eyes of the man before him. "I
hear you fired Heero. What say you?" The man answered. "He missed two days of work without
notice." He blinked. "Why can't I move? Who are you?" Duo grinned and waved a hand. "No one of consequence.
Now, listen well." The man's eyes became blank as his expression fell and
became nothing. "Yes?" Duo smirked as his eyes glowed with a renewed intensity.
"Heero is not fired. Furthermore, he will not be fired for future
incidents of the like. He may have missed those days, but you will
let it slide, as people make mistakes. Understand?" The man nodded, the blankness still conquering his face
and eyes. Quirking an eyebrow, Duo looked to Heero, his eyes still
glowing, making him shiver. "Shall I have him give you a raise
as well?" Heero shook his head. "Uh. No. I don't think that's
necessary. What if it raises suspicion?" Duo considered for a moment. "Sao ka. Yosha."
He turned back to the entranced man. "Do you understand what
has been said to you?" The man nodded. Duo grinned as his eyes stopped glowing. He winked at
Heero and, before he could respond, he was gone. The man looked to Heero. "Was there...a girl here?"
Upon receiving a shake of Heero's head he looked confused but sighed
and turned to him. "Look, Heero. I may have overreacted. Go put
that stuff back and give me a hand in the Z's. Ok?" He bent down
and picked up the CD's. Heero smiled brightly. "Sure thing." _____________________________________________________________________ Back to
