" Not Even Hell Can Stop Me" Chapter Nine - "It ends here." Shinigami's voice rang out
clear across the throne room. "What does?" "Everything!" "So you wish to fight me?" Hades asked in
a somewhat amused tone. Shinigami strolled forward leaving the others. "No. I'm going to kill you." Shinigami stated
loudly, his eyes narrowed at Hades. "I don't think so." Hades suddenly smirked.
"Lovely tail you have there and those ears match you perfectly."
Hades paused; unfazed by the death glares he was receiving. "But
things like that ain't going to save you now. Heero?" For the first time since entering the throne room Shinigami's
gaze turned to study the Japanese boy that sat on his father's right
hand side. Heero's cold gaze met and held Shinigami's. "Heero." "I want you to see something before you die Shinigami." Shinigami growled but it wasn't him who spoke. "This sick game has to end! You are Father and
Son! Yet here you are planning each other's Deaths!" Quatre stepped
forward and placed himself between Shinigami and Hades. The power
of angry that had been in the room had effected him badly and he needed
to be freed from it. "My Father is DEAD! I have so much I want
to say to him, I want to beg my forgiveness to him for going against
him but I can't!!! If I had to listen to him then maybe he wouldn't
be dead. This War Shouldn't Be Happening! Not up there and not down
here!!! You only get one family and you shouldn't FIGHT!" (1) Shinigami's violet eyes looked at Quatre with a gentle
smile. He turned into the hand that placed itself on his shoulder.
Voldemort smiled at him. "I'm sorry." Shinigami gave a nod and pulled Voldemort into a hug. "So am I." Quatre smiled as the two brothers embraced. "See." "I think I'm going to be sick." Hades snarled.
He raised a hand. "I should have done a better job of getting
rid of you before." The hand held out began to glow. Shinigami spun from his brother's arms. "QUATRE!!!" Quatre watched unable to move as the spell came at him.
Shinigami jumped knocking Quatre out of the way. Hades's eyes widen as his youngest son struggled to
breath and stay standing. "SHINI!" Ariala raced forward. "NO! VOLDEMORT!"
Voldemort held his sister tightly. "Duo." Quatre whispered his friend's name
as Shinigami's knees gave way and Shinigami collapsed on to his knees. "DUO!!!" The Japanese pilot sprang forward. Heero's Prussian
eyes stayed fixed on Shinigami and he skidded down to the floor beside
his fallen lover. His arms wrapped round the sweat-slicked boy and
that was when Heero felt it. The shift from Shinigami to Duo, the
charge that ran through Heero's body. "Duo?" Heero held tightly to his koi. Violet eyes smiled back
up at Heero. "I'll be ok." Duo whispered softly and Heero
hid the smile of relief by burying himself deep in Duo's mane of hair. "Pity." Hades's voice drawled across the room.
"He could have killed me. Too bad I get to kill him first." Heero lowered Duo to the floor but stopped when another
pair of arms took Duo. "Be careful." Duo's hand ran down Heero's
cheek as the stone face was put back in place. "Kick ass Heero." Voldemort tighten his grip
on the mortal in his arms and stood back. Heero gave a nod and turned to face Hades. "Omae o korosu." Heero said. His voice back
to it's dead monotone and his gaze a hard rock of steel. His eyes
promised a very long and painful death. "Ganbarou (2)." Hades replied but stepped
back as Heero replied. "Ninmu ryoukai." Hades watched uncertain of what to do as the gundam
pilot strolled calmly forward. Heero could feel the charge burning in his veins. Duo's
powers fresh in his blood proving that he and Duo were one and the
same. He stopped just a few centimetres from Hades. Hades's eyes narrowed as Heero reached forward and placed
a hand gently against the side of his skull. "Could it be?" Hades asked, his mind working
slowly as he stared Death in the face. "Mission..." The was a clash of thunder and a flash of lighting.
Hades straggled backwards, throwing himself away from Heero. His body
burned with unseen black fire. *** "So what happened? I don't really understand?" Ariala, Voldemort, Quatre, Trowa, Wufei and Venus were
sitting in the throne room round the base of the throne. It was the
next day, Hades's body had been dragged away and Heero had fainted
from the strain Shinigami's power had placed on his body. Duo had
also fainted at the same time as Heero. But where as Heero was still
fast asleep Duo was awake and walking about. He was at that moment
in time soaking in a boiling hot bath. Ariala looked from Quatre who had asked the question
to Venus. "Shinigami and Heero became one." "You make it sound so simple but I haven't got
a clue what that truly means." Wufei confessed. "I'll start from the beginning. The main reason
Shini first decided to become mortal was because he didn't feel complete
here. But during his time on Earth he understood that feeling of being
joined and whole. He understood love and friendship. Shini shares
a deep bond with you three but an even deeper bond with Heero. It's
unbreakable, no matter what." "So that would mean they could share Duo's power
right? I felt a really strong force coming from Heero. Was that Duo's
power?" "Kind of. Duo is Death. Death isn't meant to feel
love or any kind of kind feeling. But Heero is Life." "Meaning?" "Meaning he is mortal and has feelings." "Even if he doesn't show them all the time." Quatre nodded. "But Duo managed to bring them out." "Life and Death fell in love and in doing so became
one and the same. It's hard I know but just accept it and it'll make
more sense." (3) The group sat in silence for a few minutes. "What now?" Trowa asked. "We need a new ruler." Venus smiled at Ariala
and Voldemort. "Shini will be returning to Earth so it leaves
us with a choice of either Ariala or Voldemort to rule this world." The two siblings looked at each other. "We have trouble." Wufei commented dryly as
they started to argue. "Maybe Duo can decide who best for the job?" "Good idea." "Shin-Chan will pick me cause I'M his twin! It's
not fair on Voldemort." "But then I'm the older and have been trained all
my life and Shinigami knows that." "Well we could always try going to ask Duo to help?" "Good idea! Come on lets go and get him!" TBC... (1) - This is true. I'm being serious here. Families
are more important than anything is. Don't let any thing get in the
way of you and your family. You may regret not saying 'I love you'
when you have lost the chance for forgiveness.
